The "Index of Sites" lists the virtual Web sites that you have defined,
allows you to access the settings for each site, and lets you define new sites.
Each option is discussed in detail below.
Index of Sites
This area lists the virtual sites you have defined on your server. The "Root Site" is
a 'special' site that includes any Web pages found in the root of your Web server
folder, and any other folder that are not defined to be 'virual sites' themselves.
To Edit a Virtual Site's Settings
To edit the settings for a virtual site (such as the 'custom error page'), click on the
[Edit Settings] hyperlink. This will take you to the "Site Settings" page.
To Create a New Virtual Site
To define a new virtual site in FireSite, first make sure that you have the correct
DNS record for the new site name; the DNS record should resolve the new virtual domain
name to the single IP address of your Web server.
Simply enter a convenient "name" for the site (such as "First Corp."), the domain name
and the server-relative path to the folder for the new virtual site. Click on "Create New Site"
and the virtual site should be available immediately.
"Nested" virtual sites are allowed. (ie, www.firstco.com goes to /~firstco/,
and members.firstco.com goes to /~firstco/members/.)
To Delete a Virtual Site
To delete the FireSite settings for a virtual site, click on the [Edit Settings] hyperlink
for that site, and you will be able to delete the site settings from that page.
